Overview
Santana 28 with a 2ft scoop added onto the transom. Built in 1977 by local boat builder David Hinton and spent its whole life on Pittwater. Made just prior to composite construction, it is built entirely of resin and fibreglass matting, making it very solid with no signs of deterioration.
Rigging replaced, including chain plates, November 2024. Dacron sails approximately five years old. New bimini and lazy jacks, with new halyards fitted in 2024.
Engine & Electrical
Powered by a Vetus 16hp engine, not the original engine and in good condition. Re-wired with a new distribution board.
Performance & Layout
Has performed well in Woody Point races in 2024, winning once (results shown in photos). Wheel helm in a good-sized cockpit with practical layout, easily seating six for lunch.
