Fremantle to Exmouth Race & Rally
Following the outstanding success of the 2021 Fremantle to Exmouth event, which was recognised by Yachting WA and Australian Sailing for the most outstanding Sports Promotion Award in 2021, the Fremantle Sailing Club are now embarking on this year’s event on May 6, 2023.
Run over a distance comparable to that of the Sydney to Hobart Race, the 700-nautical mile Fremantle to Exmouth Race & Rally will take competing sailors from the first chilly winds of our southern winter to the balmy warmth of Australia’s Coral Coast. With over 40 boats registered for this year’s Race and Rally, we expect this year’s event to be even bigger and better than 2021.
This year’s event will see the Race boats leave the shores of the Fremantle Sailing Club at 12 noon on Saturday, May 6, with Rally boats set to depart at 12:10pm. Based on the last event, we expect the first bunch of sailors to arrive in Exmouth Marina during the evening/night of Monday, May 8 – however, most are likely to arrive between Tuesday 9 – Thursday, May 12.
