Exciting changes at Tasmanian Boat Charters: We’ve been keeping a little (big) secret.

We’re thrilled to announce two very exciting things …

Over the summer, we’ve been plotting and planning something very special. We’re thrilled to now be able to share these big changes with you. So big, in fact, we’re not calling ourselves Tasmanian Boat Charters anymore… Let’s dive into it:

1. Our new name and brand: On Board – Tasmanian Expedition Cruises

On Board is being announced to the world today – and you’re one of the first to know. Moving forward, Tasmanian Boat Charters will be known as On Board. We think it’s a little more refined and more accurately reflects the experiences that we offer: expedition cruises to Tasmania’s wildest corners. And, we like that we can have a bit of fun with it. So, welcome On Board

2. A new vessel arriving in January 2023

We have a custom-built cruiser on the way which will replace our existing vessel. This is the third vessel that Pieter has commissioned – and they just keep getting better (and bigger). Aboard this boutique floating hotel, guests will go beyond their comfort zones, with all the creature comforts of home. Odalisque III caters for just 12 guests and has been curated for an immersive wilderness experience in Tasmanian waters.

Read on for a Q&A with our founder and skipper, Pieter van der Woude, to get the lowdown on the new brand, new boat and new On Board experience.
