America’s most famous yacht in need of love

In 1987 26 yachts from six nations came to Fremantle Australia to contest the America’s Cup.
Dennis Connor and his team on Stars & Stripes were victorious and took the Auld Mug back to the New York Yacht Club.
After the victory Stars & Stripes eventually went to the Caribbean where she earned a living recreating America’s Cup races in St Maarten. In 2017, Hurricane Irma sank the yacht, and now an effort is underway to restore her.
