Foreshore Marine Exhaust has continued its export drive into south-east Asia winning some major contracts in 2018-2020.

Brad Gorman, Managing Director of FME took up the challenge to develop unique exhaust systems for the Singaporean Navy for four of their 22-metre high-speed patrol vessels, each powered by a pair of 1800hp MTUs delivering a service speed of 42 knots and a top speed of 48 knots.

Also delivered to a Malaysian client were complete exhaust systems for six 19-metre Combat Vessels, powered by two 1500hp MANs, delivering a top speed of 47 knots.

FME designed the entire exhaust systems in house on CAD and working with local and international marine architects achieved stunning results in terms of noise attenuation and engine performance. Due to the tight timelines demanded by the clients, the systems were manufactured complete and ready to fit into each vessel.

FME also supplied the exhaust systems for the new 24-metre NSW ferries that have recently gone into service.

On the home front, famous game fishing vessels Big Buddy and Askari received some new exhaust systems as did Sea Links new 34-metre catamaran powered by C32 Cats.

Brad Gorman, Managing Director explains “it’s been a busy year and we are fortunate to be working with some prestigious shipyards that have allowed us to develop some new technology. Exciting times ahead for sure”.
