Seldén official supplier for Farr X2
Statement from Selden:
Seldén are happy to announce that Seldén Mast has been appointed the official mast supplier for the new Farr X2.
The mast will feature T800 carbon pre-preg fibre wound on a mandrel for an optimised mix of low weight, stiffness and strength. This is achieved by Seldéns Mandrel Filament Winding technique combining off-axis winding together with unidirectional fibres.
Seldén’s project manager Andreas Axelsson, ex Artemis crew member with a 10 year career in professional sailing under his belt explains:
“We provide the Farr X2 with a mast totally customised for the boat, and we will do it over and over again. Our CNC based winding of the carbon filament ensures 100% repeatability and all masts will be identical. The way to go in One-Design racing.”
The first two masts are already in production and we look forward to the testing in 2021.
Seldén also provide the carbon boom and a carbon rigid vang as well as standing rig.
