RMS Sydney Harbour Aquatic Events GuideIt’s now easier for boaters to plan their summer on Sydney Harbour with the launch of the free Sydney’s Summer Aquatic Events Guide.

NSW Maritime Executive Director Mark Hutchings said the 32-page booklet provides advice for skippers planning to head out to view aquatic events starting with next Tuesday’s Big Boat Challenge up to the Sydney Harbour Regatta and JJ Giltinan Trophy Championship in March 2020.

“This is a great resource I’d recommend for every boater, with a handy list of upcoming events, locations, safety advice, vantage points, race courses and maps to assist skippers plan their day out,” Mr Hutchings said.

“Three key events covered in the guide include Sydney New Year’s Eve, the Sydney to Hobart yacht race start, and Australia Day on Sydney Harbour.

“These large-scale events offer boaters and spectators some of the best views in the world from the Sydney Opera House to Kirribilli, Manly and Rose Bay.”

The guide also provides advice for boaters on anchoring, special-event navigation restrictions and exclusion zones.

Safety information is included to help boaters plan ahead and follow regulations around lifejackets, distress flares and alcohol restrictions.”

The guide is free and available from boating clubs, marinas and specialist marine and outdoor retailers across Sydney.
