RSYS Ladies of the Sea Coaching Regatta

Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron has seen significant growth in the area of women’s sailing in the last five years.  Building on this success over the October Long Weekend the club will be staging its inaugural “Ladies of the Sea” Coaching Regatta.

This two day event will provide opportunities for all women to explore, participate in, and thrive at, competitive keelboat sailing.  For all participants, across all aspects of sailing and racing we will aim to challenge, nurture and mentor to allow all to enhance their capabilities, build confidence and develop skills on the water. 

Both Saturday and Sunday will start with yoga on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour.  After breakfast the morning session will be led by some of Australia’s leading female coaches.  The afternoon will be a series of short course races putting new skills into action. 

The invitation to join us is extended to all mixed division boats and one-design Elliott 7, International Yngling and J70 classes.  Both a female helm with a mixed crew and all-girl crews are encouraged to get involved.

Our experienced female race management team will mentor aspiring volunteers on the start boat.  Sunday evening we will recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements over the weekend with some of Australia’s leading female sailors speaking at the final presentation dinner.

We are seeking partners to join us for this inaugural event in a unique location with an extraordinary collection of female world champions, Olympians and round-the-world sailors.
