1946 Classic Sydney Harbour Cruising Sloop

1946 Classic Sydney Harbour Cruising Sloop

Own a piece of Australia’s yachting history!  Designed in 1946 by Sydney naval architect David Philp and 4 years in construction. BUNGOONA (‘Sandy Creek’ in the language of the local Tharawal Nation) was launched onto Sydney Harbour on 15 February 1950.

Built of Queensland Beech copper nailed and roved to Spotted Gum frames and listed on the Australian Register of Historic Vessels, ‘Bungoona’ remains to this day a fully documented example of post-war Sydney yacht design and construction using only the finest local timbers, materials and methods.

The original drawings and specification documents have been passed down by successive owners and attest to the quality of her construction and minimal changes during her +70 years on the water.

Well maintained and still sailed regularly by her present owner, Bungoona presents well with her varnished interior, wide practical non-slip sheathed and painted decks, deep secure cockpit and varnished teak rails.  2021 Survey available to qualified buyers.

** Valued at over $50,000 she’s now priced to sell to a good home **
