Productive partnership boosts comfort for boaties worldwide
17-Dec-2009
The newly formed partnership between Australia’s Isoflex Technologies Pty Ltd and Michigan Wheel Europe is a perfect match, according to Isoflex Technologies Managing Director Campbell Ewart.
“We’re pleased to announce that Michigan Wheel Europe has just signed as our master distributor in Europe,” Ewart said. “Boat builders and marine engineers will benefit from us working together to deliver high performance solutions. There’s a real synergy between our products and our companies.”
Based on Australia’s Gold Coast, Isoflex Technologies has developed a range of high performance engine and machinery mounts and flexible drive couplings that are designed to minimise the engine and drive line vibration that have long been part of the boating experience.
The team at Isoflex has over 30 years combined experience in the marine industry. They draw on this experience as they innovate and develop technical solutions to technical problems.
Michigan Wheel, a wholly owned subsidiary of the USA based parent company, Michigan Wheel Corporation, offers a very diverse range of propellers, sterngear and marine equipment for recreational, commercial and professional applications. The company is responsible for all European sales and marketing activities together with engineering and technical support services.
“We are excited about introducing Isoflex to the European marine market,” said Michigan Wheel Europe Sales Manager, Chris Bassett. “The Isoflex couplings and mounts are superbly engineered and the Isoflex staff offer excellent technical and after sales support.
“Vibration control solutions fit perfectly with our existing product range. The Isoflex couplings and mounts can be supplied as part of our complete propeller and sterngear package or as a standalone component.”
Michigan Wheel Europe is active in 40 countries and has solid relationships with 52 dealers. The benefits of their new relationship with Isoflex Technologies will be widespread.
“We have started testing with a well known OEM in the UK, and officially launched the product at the 2010 METS where all our distributors were able to view the Isoflex range and meet with Campbell Ewart,” Bassett said. “It is our intention, not only to sell and market through our existing global distribution network, but to take it to ship yards, OEMs and the after-market.
“We have a hugely experienced marine team which, in consultation with the Isoflex team in Australia, has the capability to match the characteristics of an engine with the right Isoflex mount to eliminate vibration and boost comfort.
“Essentially, builders and engineers can now source their propulsion and engine room gear from one hallmark supplier – Michigan Wheel Europe,” Bassett said.
The Isoflex mounts are fitted with a copolymer core and have very high resistance to both lateral and thrust forces. They are manufactured from top quality materials and are designed to perform long-term in the harsh marine environment.
“A perfect match leads to a reliably quieter and smoother experience,” Ewart said.
“We find that many mounts are only just adequate for the task. The correct mount selection can make a world of difference.”
“We not only have state-of-the-art mounts and couplings, we have the expertise to analyse any problem, the computer software to remove the guesswork, and the skill to make the correct mount selection. Through our partnership, Michigan Wheel Europe and their customers will now benefit from this expertise too,” Ewart added.
