Boaters urged to put safety first as clean up starts on Hunter and North Coast waters  06-Jun-2016
Roads and Maritime Services is urging people on Hunter and Northern NSW waters to avoid all non-essential boating with the clean up under way after the weekend’s wild weather. Roads and Maritime Principal Manager North Sonia McKay said all waterways along the coast were impacted by the weekend’s excessive wind and rain, with Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Port Stephens bearing the brunt of the wild weather.

Significant Rise in Australian Marina Employment  31-May-2016
The recently released Club Marine 2015 Health of the Australian Marina Industry Survey indicates that Australia’s 346 marinas have experienced significant growth in the number of people working at marinas. Based on independent research conducted by the Recreational Marine Research Centre at Michigan State University it has been demonstrated that Australian marinas provide employment for just over 23,000 people per annum. This is a significant increase from just over 19,000 that were found to work at marinas two years earlier.
