Belcher and Ryan win 470 European Championship 17-Jun-2013
Australia’s Mathew Belcher and Will Ryan have won the 2013 470 European Championship in Formia, Italy, extending their impressive winning run together. The pair has now won all eight regattas they have contested together since teaming up at the end of 2012, with Belcher’s winning streak now sitting at 16 events.

Double bronze for Australian sailors on final day in Weymouth 14-Jun-2013
Australian sailors have won two bronze medals on the final day of racing at the 2013 Sail for Gold regatta in Weymouth. Australia’s 49erFX crew of Olivia Price and Caitlin Elks, and 49er pairing Will Phillips and Rhys Mara, both overcame their opponents and strong winds to win bronze on Thursday, with both crews competing in their first regattas together.

National theft prevention scheme launched 04-Jun-2013
Australia’s largest provider of recreational boat insurance, Club Marine, has teamed up with Police, Crime Stoppers and Australia’s leading theft deterrent system, DataDot Technology Australia, to create the National Marine Register (NMR) to combat boat theft across Australia. The Register already contains almost 40,000 boat and marine-equipment profiles, including 900 stolen vessels. It was officially launched at a special Club Marine function at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in Queensland.

Australia’s next group of World Championship and gold medal winning coaches have been developing their skills at a special course in Sydney. The group of coaches, drawn from State and Paralympic programs, are undertaking the first Performance Coach Program, held at the National Training Centre at Middle Harbour Yacht Club.
