electric motorGo electric with your boat!

Electric motors are quiet, clean, reliable and economical to run.
Especially for displacement vessels such as yachts and traditional timber boats it makes sense to convert to electric drive, as relatively little power is needed to bring a boat up to its ‘hull speed’. A 25kg electric motor with a diameter of less than 300mm can replace a big and noisy diesel inboard giving you a quiet ride and lots of interior space in return.
Recharging batteries can be done either by plugging in to shore power or via solar panels if the boat is on a mooring.
Eco Boats Australia supplies electric inboard and hybrid motors by Mastervolt-Bellmann from Holland, ranging from 5-30Hp and electric outboards by Torqeedo from Germany, ranging from 1-10Hp.
All systems come as a complete plug-and-play package consisting of motor, controller, connection cables and display. We can also advise you on a suitable battery bank and charger.

Airhead marine composting toilet – a better way to go

Designed specifically for marine applications, with marine grade stainless steel fittings, the Airhead offers several advantages over conventional holding tanks. No odour, no plumbing, no through hulls, no chemicals and no water usage. The Airhead provides two people with up to three months weekend use before needing to be emptied!
The Air Head is simple to install (easy DIY job) and sized to fit into a compact marine head. Just remove the old toilet and block off the thru hulls. Bolt the new toilet into place (no plumbing required) and run the ventilation hose to the bulkhead.
When the solid tank is full, cap with the lid supplied and empty contents into a land based composting toilet … or take the tank home and leave in the garage for 3-4 months … you’ve got fertilizer for the rose garden!
