Noakes aboard Radar at the Boat Show
From its humble beginnings 30 years ago as a garage rigging business, Noakes Group has expanded up and down the Australian east coast and has diversified into historic charter ferries, marinas and hospitality.
Noakes will be on display at this year’s Sydney Boat Show aboard Radar, the 1947 built ferry which has a long and colourful history on Sydney Harbour.
Radar is one of five in the Rosman Ferries fleet that has been restored by Noakes’ shipwrights and other specialised tradesmen who will be available to chat to Show goers about timber boat restoration and the history of Rosman, an Australian owned business that has been operating since 1916.
Noakes managing director Sean Langman and staff will be on hand to talk about repairs and maintenance on all types of vessels from power boats through to composite built grand prix racing yachts.

Cutting edge cleaning technology
Cleaning and maintaining your boat’s surfaces are a time and resource demanding endeavour. The marine environment is the harshest … UV radiation, salt water, green algae and overall mechanical wear and tear all leave their mark.
TCnano Gelcoat combines thorough cleaning with optimal care and protection of your boat’s gelcoat surfaces. Unlike traditional treatments that require washing, polishing and application of wax, everything is handled with one product, saving time and materials.
A treatment with TCnano Gelcoat gives the surface an eye-catching shine, and makes it easier to remove soot particles from the exhaust pipe and dirt residue at the water line. TCnano Technologies recommends that you treat the boat twice a year, at the beginning and end of the season.
TCnano Gelcoat retails at $59.95 for 250ml which is enough to treat a 30ft boat.

The Dehler is back – and winning already
The New Dehler 35 was launched on Sydney’s Pittwater in July. This heralds the return of this respected brand to Australia. Under the dealership of successful yacht importers, Windcraft, the brand is expected to make a significant impact on the club racing scene in Australia.
The Dehler 35 has already claimed its first major title in the Kiel Cup. Racing in the International Inshore German Championship in ORCi the little boat outclassed stiff competition to win its class.
The win underlies the company slogan – When Passion meets Reason. Laminating the hull and deck together is a labour intensive and costly affair, but Dehler say they will always make that extra effort to ensure total strength and robustness. The hand laid balsa sandwich construction creates exceptionally rigid, but light hulls.
Standard boat price is $259,000 with tri-radial North’s sails and lead bulb keel. On display at Sydney Boatshow.

Barnacle Rid Antifoul
The Barnacle Rid system prevents barnacle growth on your boat’s submersed hull and parts. This system was developed in Australia and stands up to the harshest conditions. Barnacle Rid is the best, most cost effective and eco-friendly electronic anti-fouling system on the market today.
Two electrodes are lowered into the water when your boat is not in use. A protective field is created between the electrodes by our sophisticated electronic controller. The field encompasses your entire submerged hull and prevents barnacle growth.
Copper has been used by mariners to deter barnacles for centuries, Barnacle Rid have just enhanced its protective properties with a new sophisticated (yet simple to use and install) electronic controller.
Barnacle Rid are currently offering great specials to mark their official first launch of this exciting new antifoul innovation.
