Prosail Maxis for 2008 Hamilton Island Race Week
The 25th Anniversary Hamilton Island Race Week will see the first running of the Retro Big Boat Division and two maxis have confirmed their attendance.
Condor, the 81ft Ron Holland designed IOR Maxi and Hammer of Queensland, the 76ft Steinman Maxi will compete in the event. \
Prosail Queensland operates the boats as charter boats in the Whitsundays and Managing Director Dave Molloy says the event gives 40 people the opportunity to participate in the event, take the helm of these awesome boats and experience the thrill of sailing a maxi in one of the world’s most beautiful settings.
Anyone from first time sailors to experienced hands can take part and will take something special away from the experience.

Lamoore expand to Victoria
No longer content to stay within the Sydney market, Lamoore Yacht Sales of Palm Beach are expanding into Victoria, with the appointment of Aron McClean in Melbourne.
From here, all the services Lamoore have become renowned for in Sydney will be available, including the selling of used yachts and cruisers, valuations, insurance and finance services.
Lamoore Yacht Sales director John Moore says that this move has been in the pipeline for a while.
“We’ve always had interest from Victorian customers, but up until now they’ve had to come up to Sydney to view the boats we had for sale. Now, with new listings coming from Melbourne, they don’t have to travel interstate to buy or sell a boat through Lamoore.”
Aron McClean has worked with the team at Lamoore Yacht Sales Sydney office, and is looking forward to starting up the agency in Melbourne.

New for 2008 – the Arvor 280 A
Featuring a large cockpit and great interior, the 9.50m Arvor 280 AS can accommodate up to nine people. The spacious entertaining areas can also be easily converted to offer four berths.
The Arvor 280 AS has a vast cockpit with separate shower and baggage compartment; a fish locker with ice; AM/FM/CD/Radio with speakers in the cabin and pilot house; three wooden foldable cockpit benches; and live well with an electric pump.
The pilot house includes an electric switch panel, full engine instrumentation, weather gauges and hydraulic steering as standard. The Arvor 280 AS also comes complete with a bow thruster, three electric bilge pumps and an electric anchor windlass that is controlled from the helm.
The Arvor 280 AS is powered by the 4.2L Cummins Mercruiser Diesel and is set to reach 320HP.
