Norah Head Lighthouse Turned Off for Repair  22-May-2013
Boaters are advised the Norah Head Lighthouse will be turned off today to allow investigations to continue into minor faults with the rotation mechanism. A Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokesperson said the five tonne light lens rotates on a bath of mercury in a secured lantern room within the lighthouse.

The Royal Geelong Yacht Club will once again be hosting the Whyte, Just & Moore Lawyers Wooden Boat Festival of Geelong next year, and they need plenty of wooden boats to attend. The 2014 Festival will take place over four days from Thursday March 6th to Sunday March 9th.

  
Pete Langman outsails his record breaking dad in CYCA Winter Series  20-May-2013
Nineteen year old Pete Langman today defeated his record-holding ocean racing father Sean in Race 4 of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s Winter Series sailed on Sydney Harbour. Sailing three modernised Thunderbirds, individually skippered by Pete, his father Sean and a workmate, Shaun McKnight, the three were gearing up for another showdown in Division H. Peter Langman (Noakes White), gave dad, Sean (Noakes Red), and Pete’s Noakes boss McKnight (Noakes Blue), what is proverbially known in sailing as a ‘pasting’.

  
Australian Cruising Yacht Tainui - from White Sea to Black Sea  17-May-2013
Australian cruising yacht Tainui is shortly to depart Tromso in far northern Norway, destination Istanbul. Her route has been rarely travelled by foreign yachts. She will sail round Norway's North Cape into the Barents Sea and provision in Murmansk.

Silver and bronze for Aussie sailors on final day in Italy  13-May-2013
Australian sailors have won a silver and bronze medal on the final day of the EUROSAF Champions Sailing Cup on Lake Garda in Italy, including the country’s first medal in the new Nacra 17 class. Jason Waterhouse and Lisa Darmanin won silver in just their second event in the new mixed multihull Nacra 17 class, with Ryan Palk claiming bronze in the Laser class.

Australian multihull sailors Jason Waterhouse and Lisa Darmanin have had the perfect day’s racing on day four of the EUROSAF Champions Sailing Cup on Lake Garda in Italy with three wins from three starts in the Nacra 17 class.

  
Fun in the Sun for Race Three of the CYCA Winter Series  13-May-2013
It was another perfect day for competitors in Race 3 of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s Winter Series – a full course was sailed, the sun was shining burning off the early morning fog and once the breeze filled in there was some great races within races across the 13 divisions.
